Glen Bank is a Cumbrian longhouse built in 1755 situated in the village of Brampton, Appleby-in-Westmorland.
Due to the period of the building it has narrow and low internal door thresholds, sloping ceilings and crooked walls. Because of the narrow door thresholds sadly wheel-chair access can only be made into the orangery/dining area, downstairs bedroom and en-suite and the lower garden terrace.

Travel: The nearest train station is 11 miles away. There are currently no bus stops near the village.
Care has been taken to provide guests with a choice of places to socialise or slip away for some quiet time.
The orangery holds a bespoke ash dining table able to seat up to 12 people The table can be moved to allow more space next to any walls. There is a log burner and underfloor heating beneath the slate floor.
Sitting Room & Library
The spacious sitting room has 3 x 3 seater comfy sofas and 1 armchair while the second sitting room Library has a sofa and armchair and is supplied with a great selection of books, maps, a chess set and access through French windows into a secluded private outdoor area. There are two steps down to the outside space.
The living room furniture is movable and cushions are provided. The floors throughout the downstairs living areas are wooden with underfloor heating.
Boot Room and Laundry
The Laundry is in the Boot room with separate washing machine and tumble dryer. Ample hanging and drying space is provided for boots and coats.
There is a separate downstairs cloakroom.
The downstairs bedroom, Great Dun, has a 6ft superking size bed which can also be configured as two singles, an en-suite with bath and separate rainshower and French windows leading on to private outside area. A support rail has been installed in the shower.
There are 6 steps to a HALF LANDING then 5 steps to first floor.
High Cup Nick is the master bedroom with 6 a ft bed, double height ceiling and views from Juliet balcony over the garden on one side and the Dufton fells from the other side. High Cup Nick has an en-suite bathroom with bath and separate rainfall shower.
The Croglin bedroom has a 5’ kingsize bed from which you can lie in and look out of the window on to the fells. The en-suite bathroom features a rainfall shower.
Further along the corridor are the two final bedrooms named Murton and Dufton which share a family bathroom with rainfall shower. Murton has a 6’ zip and link bed which can also be configured as two singles upon request and the Dufton bedroom has a 5’ kingsize bed.
The large raised landscaped garden is fully enclosed with views across to the Cumbrian fells. Access to the garden is by 5 steps from the main paved courtyard at the back of the house and a secluded courtyard outside the library. A raised deck provides unparalleled views of the Cumbrian landscape. There is a large table and chairs for eating on the courtyard and a further table and chairs on the deck and a bbq.
*As there is no high speed internet access due to the rural location of this property the service can be intermittent, the owners requests that no streaming or films are to be downloaded.
